[January 18, 2006]   IPC’s Fourth Annual Sacramento Day Gives Manufacturers “Something to Do”

For every California manufacturer who is waiting for someone else to "do something" about the difficult business climate in California, there is finally an answer. The fourth annual Sacramento Day will take place March 1-2, 2006, at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel in Sacramento, Calif., and will give companies a chance to speak directly with members of the California Legislature regarding their concerns and needs for the future.

The event will focus on three specific issues for Californians: 1) a sales tax exemption on manufacturing and telecommunications equipment, 2) reducing energy costs, and 3) allowing flex time to lower workforce costs for manufacturers across the State. The failure of the Governor's reform propositions in the November elections was a stark reminder that there is much work to be done to make the Golden State more manufacturing friendly. All companies in the electronic interconnection industry with operations in California are urged to attend.

Says Joe O'Neil, Hunter Technology, and the event chairman: "This event will allow us to provide State legislators with first hand accounts of how their policies impact California's electronics industry, and consequently the state's economic well being. We can and will bring back a business friendly environment to California, but only if we take action."
